What is BS EN IEC 60384‑25 about?
BS EN IEC 60384‑25 is the 25th part of Fixed capacitors for use in electronic equipment in multi-series.
BS EN IEC 60384‑25 applies to fixed aluminium electrolytic surface mount capacitors with conductive polymer solid electrolyte, primarily intended for DC applications for use in electronic equipment. BS EN IEC 60384‑25 prescribes preferred ratings and characteristics and to select from IEC 60384-1:2016 the appropriate quality assessment procedures, tests and measuring methods and to give general performance requirements for this type of capacitor.
Note: Fixed aluminium electrolytic surface mount capacitors with solid (MnO2) are not included but are covered by IEC 60384-18.
Note 2: Test severities and requirements prescribed in detail specifications referring to this sectional specification shall be of equal or higher performance level, because lower performance levels are not permitted.
Who is BS EN IEC 60384‑25 for?
BS EN IEC 60384‑25 on Fixed capacitors is useful for:
- Manufacturers of electronic equipment
- Sensor and monitoring device manufacturer
- Electrician
Why should you use BS EN IEC 60384‑25?
Low performance and untested capacitors can affect the performance of any electronic device it is implemented in.
BS EN IEC 60384‑25 will help you in the visual examination, that is, it helps to verify that materials, design, construction, and physical dimensions are appropriate or not.
BS EN IEC 60384‑2 helps to produce the capacitors with similar processes and materials, though they may be different in size and value. Quality assessment procedures mentioned in BS EN IEC 60384‑2 will help in increasing the quality of fixed capacitors.
Producing better quality fixed capacitors will open up new markets for business.
What’s changed since the last update?
BS EN IEC 60384‑25:2021 supersedes BS EN 60384‑25:2015. BS EN IEC 60384‑25:2021 includes some technical changes with respect to BS EN 60384‑25:2015. These include:
- Revision of the structure in accordance with ISO/IEC Directives, Part 2:2018, to the extent practicable, and harmonization between other similar kinds of documents.
- In addition, Clause 5 and all the tables have been reviewed in order to prevent duplications and contradictions
