What is BS EN 62453‑302 – CIP integration about?
BS EN 62453‑302 is a part of the IEC 62453 multi-series that discusses FDT interface specification. This European standard helps its users to understand the concepts of FDT interface and implement it in their organizations. BS EN 62453‑302 provides information for integrating the CIP™ technology into the FDT interface specification (IEC 62453-2).
BS EN 62453‑302 specifies communication and other services.
Note: BS EN 62453‑302 neither contains the FDT specification nor modifies it.
Who is BS EN 62453‑302 – CIP integration for?
BS EN 62453‑302 on FDT interface specification is useful for:
- Manufacturers of field devices and network components
- Application developers
- System integrators
Why should you use BS EN 62453‑302 – CIP integration?
With the integration of fieldbuses into control systems, there are a few additional tasks to be performed. They may result in a large number of fieldbus- and device-specific tools in addition to system and engineering tools. Integration of these tools into higher-level system-wide planning or engineering tools is an advantage.
BS EN 62453‑302 when used in conjunction with BS EN 62453-2 provides you with extensive guidance on CIP™ technology and its protocol specific behaviours, protocol-specific usage, network management data types etc. These guidelines help you to understand the applications and their benefits for your organization.
Overall, BS EN 62453-2 helps you to incorporate CIP™ technology in your manufacturing operation efficiently.
What’s changed since the last update?
BS EN 62453‑302:2017 replaces BS EN 62453‑302:2009. The main changes are provided in order to provide improved support for Ethernet IP (see Clauses 9, 10, and 12), additional implementation hints (see Annex A) and to support introduction of the technology according to IEC TR 62453-42 (see Clause 4).
