BS EN 61755 is a series on fibre optic connector optical interfaces. Fibre optic connector optical interfaces join optical fibres and enable quicker connection and disconnection than splicing. BS EN 61755-2-1 defines a set of prescribed conditions that must be maintained in order to satisfy the requirements of attenuation and return loss performance in a randomly mated pair of fibres considering a beam with a Gaussian distribution of light intensity over the considered MFD. Performance grades are classified into four categories for attenuation and return loss measurements.
