BS EN 16196 is a standard that serves technical specifications for determining calcium content in fertilizers that promotes plant growth, greater root mass and control of soil acidity in agricultural applications. 

BS EN 16196 specifies a manganimetric method for the determination of the calcium content in fertilizer extracts. 

BS EN 16196 method is applicable to EC fertilizers for which a declaration of the total and/or water-soluble calcium content is provided for in Regulation (EC) No 2003/2003, Annex I [3].
