What is BS EN 17041-Determination of boron in mineral fertilizers about?

BS EN 17041 is a standard that serves technical specifications for the determination of boron in mineral fertilizers, ensuring plant development and treating boron deficiency in plants.

BS EN 17041 specifies a method for determining total and water-extractable boron in mineral fertilizers containing less than or equal to 10 % boron.

BS EN 17041 method applies to water and aqua regia fertilizer extracts obtained according to EN 16962 and/or EN 16964.

BS EN 17041 method can also be used to determine boron in mineral fertilizers containing more than 10% boron after appropriate dilution of the extracts.

Note: BS EN 17041 does not apply to -

  • Fertilizers with FE concentrations more than twenty times higher than boron

Who is BS EN 17041-Determination of boron in mineral fertilizers for?

BS EN 17041 on the determination of boron in mineral fertilizers applies to:

  • Manufacturers of fertilizers
  • Dealers and importers of fertilizers
  • Testing houses and labs for fertilizers

Why should you use BS EN 17041-Determination of boron in mineral fertilizers?

Boron is an essential nutrient necessary for plant growth. Boron plays a vital role in flowering. This mineral gets to the crops through borax, organic matter, or fertilizer. Boron helps plants grow by strengthening plant cell walls and aiding in photosynthesis.

BS EN 17041 provides you guidance on principle, sampling, reagents, apparatus, procedure, calculations, expression of result and test report, which allows you to determine boron content in mineral fertilizers, enhancing the effective germination and seed development to increase crop yields.

BS EN 17041 provides you guidance on the method for determining boron in mineral fertilizers using spectrometry with the azomethine-H method. BS EN 17041 also provides you with a step-by-step procedure for the method, which allows you to do the method correctly.

Guidance in BS EN 17041 enables you to determine boron concentrations in mineral fertilizers using a reliable and cost-effective method that allows plant growth and uniform nutrient distribution.
