What is ISO 3269 - Fasteners about?
ISO 3269 is an international standard on fasteners that discusses the criteria for inspection of the quality of fasteners. ISO 3269 specifies an inspection procedure to be used by the purchaser where no prior agreement exists. BS EN ISO 3269:2019 supersedes BS EN ISO 3269:2001, which is withdrawn.
The main changes compared to the previous edition are as follows:
- Introduction of an additional approach for incoming inspection with smaller sample sizes based on NA = 0
- Use of a reference approach in case agreement is not reached
- Sample size specified based on a lot size
- Addition of informative Annexes A and B explaining the basis for sample size selection
