What is ISO 18526-3 about?
ISO 18526 discusses eye and face protection. ISO 18526-3 is the third part of the multi-series ISO 18526. ISO 185263 specifies the reference test methods for determining physical and mechanical properties of eye and face protectors.
Note: ISO 18526-3 does not apply to any eye and face protection products for which the requirements standard(s) specifies other test methods

The physical test in ISO 18526-3 includes a physical inspection, area to be protected assessment (from the frontal direction and lateral direction), retention by headbands and harnesses, visual assessment of material and surface quality of lenses and other resistance tests.
The mechanical tests in ISO 18526-3 include tests on unmounted lenses, as well as tests on complete eye protectors. Aspects discussed are resistance to surface damage due to flying fine particles, penetration of vents and gaps, protection against molten metals and hot solids.
