What is BS EN 15269‑20 about?  

BS EN 15269 discusses the application of test results for fire resistance and smoke control for door, shutter, and openable window assemblies, including their elements of building hardware. 

BS EN 15269‑20 is the twenth part of the multi-part series that specifies doors, shutters, open windows, and fabric curtains of any material which are: 

  • Hinged and pivoted doors and open windows of single or double leaf 
  • Horizontally and vertically moving steel sliding doors of single or double leaf 
  • Metal rolling shutters and operable fabric curtains excluding overlapping systems 

BS EN 15269‑20 is intended to be used in conjunction with EN 15269-1. 

Under BS EN 15269‑20 after completion of all the tests, the extended application can cover all or some leaf/leaves, wall/ceiling fixed elements, glazed elements, vents, items of building hardware, etc.
