What is BS EN 15316-4-10-Energy performance of buildings about?

BS EN 15316 discusses the energy performance of buildings. BS EN 15316-4-10 belongs to BS EN 15316 multi-series and discusses wind power generation systems. BS EN 15316-4-10 defines a method for the assessment of electricity generation on-site or nearby the building environment on-site or nearby the building through wind power systems (WPS) and energy performance calculation of wind power systems.

The WPS described in BS EN 15316-4-10 is small plants as they may occur in domestic production and use of electricity in connection with specific buildings. BS EN 15316-4-10 covers wind generation power systems ≤ 75 kW.

Note 1: BS EN 15316-4-10 does not cover sizing or inspection of WPS.

Who is BS EN 15316-4-10-Energy performance of buildings for?

BS EN 15316-4-10 on the energy performance of buildings (Wind power generation systems) is useful for:

  • Windmills manufacturers
  • Architects
  • Electrical engineers
  • Civil engineers
  • Design engineers
  • Builders

Why should you use BS EN 15316-4-10-Energy performance of buildings

The energy efficiency of a building is the extent to which the energy consumption per square meter of the floor area of the building measures up to established energy consumption benchmarks for that particular type of building under defined climatic conditions.

BS EN 15316-1-4-10 is part of a series of standards aiming at international harmonization of the methodology for the assessment of the energy performance of buildings, called the “set of EPB standards.

BS EN 15316-1-4-10 helps you with the procedure to take into account the energy performance of wind power systems (WPS). BS EN 15316-1-4-10 provides you with guidance wind power systems that include input and output from other parts of the heating systems standards. BS EN 15316-1-4-10 also helps you with the determination of WPS and hub height, wind power in the respective month, WPS capacity, and also monthly yield.
