What is BS EN 12098-5 – Start-stop schedulers for heating systems about?
BS EN 12098-5 European Standard is the third part of the BS EN 12098 series of standards that applies to scheduling equipment for heating systems. The signals can be processed by using either analogue or digital techniques, or both. BS EN 12098-5 applies to start-stop scheduling functions and sets minimum acceptable standards for functions, performance and documentation.
The start-stop function can be integrated within a main control device. In this case, the controller would be expected to this standard for scheduling function.
Safety requirements on heating systems and heating control systems remain unaffected by this European Standard.
Note1: The actuators and the dynamic behaviour of the valves are not covered in this
European Standard. This control equipment may or may not be connected to a data network.
Who is BS EN 12098-5 - Start-stop schedulers for heating systems for?
BS EN 12098-5 on start-stop schedulers is useful for:
- Heating system manufacturers
- start-stop schedulers manufacturers
Why should you use BS EN 12098-5 - Start-stop schedulers for heating systems?
Start-stop scheduler device which switches heating modes affecting the heating control system according to a program. Scheduler achieves energy saving by switching heating modes. BS EN 12098-5 provides operational and electrical requirements that you need to follow while manufacturing the start-stop scheduler device. BS EN 12098-5 ensures that the start-stop scheduler device is reliable and efficient.
