What is BS EN 16796-3 - Energy efficiency of container handling lift trucks about?  

The EN 16796 series deals with the energy efficiency of industrial trucks and aligns with the New Approach Eco-design Directive 2009/125/EC (ErP).   

BS EN 16796-3 specifies the method of energy consumption measurement for container handling lift trucks, as defined in ISO 5053-1.

BS EN 16796-3 is in place since 1996 and it is used broadly. This approach allows the evaluation of the energy efficiency of trucks by comparison.
