What is BS EN 50193-2-2 about?

BS EN 50193 discusses the standard for electric instantaneous water heaters. BS EN 50193-2-2 is the second part of multi-series BS EN 50193. BS EN 50193-2-2 applies to open outlet, single point of use, electric instantaneous water heaters that are used in household showers. These instantaneous water heaters are for showering are used without downstream mixing. BS EN 50193-2-2 only specifies tests for the assessment of energy efficiency.

Note 1: BS EN 50193-2-2 does not apply to electrical instantaneous water heaters covered by other parts of this series of standards

Who is BS EN 50193-2-2 for?

BS EN 50193-2-2 on electric instantaneous water heaters is useful for:

  • Water Heater Manufactures
  • Quality control personal

Why should you use BS EN 50193-2-2

High-efficiency water heaters use less energy than standard models, saving money for your customers on their bills. Actual energy savings from high-efficiency water heaters depend on family size, heater location, and size. BS EN 501932-2 provides you with the tests to assess the performance of instantaneous water heaters for showering purposes without downstream mixing. The testing is conducted for energy efficiency, which is a major aspect of the performance test. It includes the calculation of daily energy demand for the instantaneous water heaters and for the annual electric consumption.

BS EN 501932-2 also provides the procedure for the test to be carried out. BS EN 501932-2 will help you in testing the energy efficiency of your instantaneous water heater. Thus, your customer would benefit from lower electric bills
