What is BS EN 50645 – Small power transformers about? 

BS EN 50645 is a European standard that discusses the ecodesign requirements for small power transformers. They are small power transformers, medium power transformers and large power transformers. These transformers transform the voltage. 

BS EN 50645 is applicable to transformers with 50 Hz AC input and output with a rated power of 1 kVA or more and a voltage lower than 1 kV, except those excluded in the regulation. For transformers with a voltage between 1 kV and 1,1 kV, BS EN 50645 may be used as a guide.

When the transformer is connected to the rated supply voltage, at the rated supply frequency, with no load on the output, the no-load loss is not higher by more than 5 % from the marked value. And the load loss is not higher by more than 5% from the marked value.
