What is BS EN 1398 – Dock levellers about?
BS EN 1398 is a European standard that discusses the safety requirement of dock levellers. A dock leveller is equipment used to level up the difference in height between a warehouse floor and a delivery vehicle.
BS EN 1398 specifies the safety requirements for design, construction, installation, maintenance and testing of dock levellers and safety components on dock levellers. With the exception of:
- Dock levellers for marine and aircraft applications
- Lifting tables
- Vehicle-mounted tail lifts.
