What is BS EN 10363 - Continuously hot-rolled patterned steel about?

BS EN 10363 is a European standard on continuously hot-rolled patterned steel that discusses the criteria for measuring tolerances on dimensions and shape. BS EN 10363 specifies tolerances on dimensions and shapes for continuously hot-rolled uncoated patterned steel strip and plate/sheet cut of it in nominal thicknesses up to 20 mm inclusive, of non-alloy and alloy steels.

Steel grades other than those given in Table 1 may be used by agreement only.

BS EN 10363 does not apply to stainless steel.

Who is BS EN 10363 - Continuously hot-rolled patterned steel for?

BS EN 10363 on continuously hot-rolled patterned steel is relevant to:

  • Manufacturer of steel strip and plate/ sheet cut from wide strip

Why should you use BS EN 10363 - Continuously hot-rolled patterned steel?

Hot rolling is a mill process that involves rolling the steel at a high temperature (typically at a temperature over 1700° F), which is above the steel's recrystallization temperature.

BS EN 10363 provides guidance on the example of designations, a form of supply and design, tolerances for sheet/plate, tolerances for wide strip and strip slit from the wide strip, testing for dimensional accuracy.

BS EN 10363 exemplifies the required tolerances on dimensions and shapes for continuously hot-rolled uncoated patterned steel strip and plate/sheet cut that help you achieve precision in terms of product functionality and specification. With obedience and compliance to BS EN 10363, you can efficiently manufacture high-quality hot-rolled patterned steel products with precise tolerances on dimensions and shapes.
