To support the development of connected and automated mobility (CAM), the industry called for a universally agreed glossary of common terms and definitions. BSI Flex 1890 v6.0 is the sixth iteration of this standard and includes the most up to date and consistent terms, reflecting the Automated Vehicles Act 2024 and industry feedback.

This version defines 131 terms and 59 abbreviations related to the connectivity and automation of road-going, land-based vehicles and their users. It establishes a common language to encourage clarity, interoperability, and promote trust in CAM.
