What is BS EN 13523-10- Coil coated metals — Test methods about?
Standard is the 10th part of series BS EN 13523-10 that specifies test methods of resistance to fluorescent UV radiation and water condensation.
BS EN 13523-10 specifies the basic principles and procedure for determining the resistance of an organic coating on a metallic substrate (coil coating) to a combination of fluorescent UV radiation, water condensation, and temperature under controlled conditions.
Who is BS EN 13523-10- Coil coated metals — Test methods for?
BS EN 13523-10 on coil coated metals — Test methods is useful for:
- Coil coated metal industries
- Metal coil product manufacturing companies
- Metal coil transport companies
- Laboratories
Why should you use BS EN 13523-10- Coil coated metals — Test methods?
BS EN 13523-10 helps to define test methods for Resistance to fluorescent UV radiation and water condensation.
BS EN 13523-10 guidance provides principles and procedures of test methods that are performed in combination of fluorescent UV radiation, water condensation, and temperature under controlled conditions.
What’s changed since the last update?
BS EN 13523-10:2017 supersedes BS EN 13523-10:2010. BS EN 13523-10:2017 includes some technical changes with respect to BS EN 13523-10:2010. These include:
- The distance of the test specimen to the lamps is device-specific and not necessary for carrying out the test; so, the requirement to expose the face of the test specimens at about 50 mm from the nearest surface of the lamp has been deleted
- A remark on the repositioning of the specimens during exposure has been added
- A remark on removing or re-arranging the test panels during the process has been added
- The text has been editorially revised and the normative references have been updated
