What is BS EN 1466 - Safety requirements and test methods for carry cots and stands about?
BS EN 1466 is a European standard that discusses the safety of children’s carry cots and stands. BS EN 1466 specifies safety requirements and test methods for products that are intended for the purpose of carrying a child in a lying position by means of a handle (s) and for stands that may be used in conjunction with these products (see C.2).
These products are intended for a child who cannot sit unaided, roll over or push up on its hands and knees, with a maximum weight of 9 kg. Hereafter, in BS EN 1466 these products are called "carry cots" and include all types of carry cots with rigid or soft sides as well as mosses baskets and any related products.
Note: BS EN 1466 has not considered the requirements of children with special needs.
