NOTE EN 17289‑2specifiesamethodtocalculatethesize-weightedfinefractionfromameasuredparticlesizedistributionandassumesthattheparticlesizedistributionofthecrystallinesilicaparticlesisthesameastheotherparticlespresentinthebulkmaterial. EN 17289‑3specifiesamethodusingaliquidsedimentationtechniqueto determinethesize-weightedfinefractionofcrystallinesilica. Bothmethodsarebaseduponanumberof limitationsandassumptions, whicharelistedinEN 17289‑2andEN 17289‑3, respectively. ThemethodinEN 17289‑3canalsobeusedforotherconstituentsthanCS, ifinvestigatedandvalidated.
