What is BS EN 1972 about?

BS EN 1972 is the second part of the BS EN 197 series of documents that specifies the scheme for the assessment and verification of constancy of performance (AVCP) of cement, including certification of constancy of performance.

BS EN 1972 provides technical rules for factory production control, further testing of samples taken at the manufacturing plant (auto control testing) and assessment of the performance of the cement, initial inspection of the manufacturing plant and of factory production control, continuing surveillance, assessment and evaluation of factory production control and audit-testing of samples. BS EN 1972 also provides rules for actions to be followed in the event of non-conformity and requirements for depots.

The guidelines given in the Technical Report CEN/TR 14245 contain information for the application of BS EN 1972.

Who is BS EN 1972 for?

BS EN 1972 on the constancy of performance of cement is useful for:

  • Cement and binder manufacturers
  • Builders

Why should you use BS EN 1972?

The constancy of performance is the document issued under the rules of the scheme for the AVCP indicating that adequate confidence is provided that the cement conforms to the performance(s) declared in accordance with the relevant product standard.

BS EN 1972 provides the general requirements on the factory production control of cement production and internal quality control.

BS EN 1972 gives the procedure for certification of constancy of performance of cement which gives information regarding the works' quality, quality management system, and internal quality control.

Also, gives the assessment of the performance of the cement during the initial period of the cement.

Overall, BS EN 1972 helps you in the AVCP of cement and if is satisfactory, the certificate of constancy of performance of the product remains valid.

What’s changed since the last update?
