What is ISO 18650-1 about?

ISO 18650-1 is the first part of multiple series that establishes the content for commercial literature for concrete mixers used either as individual machines on building sites or as components of batching plants.

The commercial specifications establish the technical characteristics of the whole machines and their components.

NOTE-

Truck mixers, as defined in ISO 197111, are excluded from ISO 18650-1

Who is ISO 18650-1 for?

ISO 18650-1 on building construction machinery and equipment is useful for

  • Construction industry
  • Building contractor
  • workers in construction
  • The operator of concrete mixer

Why should you use ISO 18650-1?

Concrete mixers are used to prepare concrete mixtures. Some concrete mixers are even capable of dispensing the concrete mixture directly on the location of the construction.

ISO 18650-1 establishes the content for commercial literature for concrete mixers. Adhering to ISO 18650-1 will not only save your time and effort, but it will ensure that the contents like steel bar Brisbane mix properly and the workers can focus on other aspects of construction in the meanwhile.

It saves your money since you don't need extra employees to manually mix the concrete and cement. ISO 18650-1 also specifies batching plants that are specially used to combine equipment that brings together water, air, cementitious mixtures, and other aggregate materials to produce concrete for different application types.

ISO 18650-1 provides guidance on various types of concrete mixer by providing characteristics and specifications of it respectively. For example, pan-type concrete mixers are used for mixing small quantities of concrete, paddle concrete mixer is used for mixing construction products, such as pastes, slurries or paints, and self-loading mobile concrete mixer is used for making concrete mixture automatically etc.

What’s changed since the last update?

BS EN ISO 18650-1:2021 replaces the first edition (ISO 186501:2004), which has been technically revised.

The main changes compared to the previous edition are as follows:

  • Added definition for "self-loading mobile concrete mixer" in 3.1.3.4 and also added reference to figures A.23 and A.24
  • Added commercial specifications for discharging-chute concrete mixer in 5.3.4 and self-loading mobile concrete mixer in 5.3.8;
  • Added figures A.17 to A.22 for clarification of classification.
