Why should you use ISO 277 - Raw tung oil?

Tung oil is often used by paint and varnish manufacturers as a generic name for any wood-finishing product. Since tung oil has become popular as an environmentally friendly wood finish, some products labelled as "tung oil" are actually blends containing other oils, varnishes, solvents, or chemical driers, and may even contain no tung oil at all.

ISO 277 provides a test procedure to determine if your product complies with the requirements of the technical specification for raw tung oil in order to maintain the quality of the product.

It helps the suppliers to ensure that the performances declared by different manufacturers for a certain characteristic are reliable and truly comparable.
