What is BS EN 12258-3 – Aluminum and aluminum alloys about? 

BS EN 12258-3 is a European standard that discusses the terms and definitions of scrap for aluminum alloys. Aluminum alloys are widely used in engineering structures and components where lightweight or corrosion resistance is required. 

BS EN 12258-3 contains definitions of terms related to scrap of aluminum and aluminum alloys which are helpful for communication within the aluminum industry and between the industry and the authorities. Definitions of general terms which are helpful for communication within the aluminum industry are laid down in EN 12258-1.
