BS EN 755-1:2008 Aluminium and aluminium alloys. Extruded rod/bar, tube and profiles. Technical conditions for inspection and delivery
BS EN 755-1 is the European Standard document and part of the BS EN 755 series, that specifies the technical conditions for inspection and delivery of wrought aluminium and aluminium alloy extruded rod/bar, tube and profile for general engineering applications.
The following technical modifications have been introduced and BS EN 755-1 contains:
- Fully updated Scope to clarify what is not included
- Definition of order document is included
- Information about the standard’s application, especially for products to be anodised
- The provisions regarding Brinell hardness testing
- Requirements to stress corrosion cracking resistance
- For samples for chemical analysis reference is made to EN 14361
- For shapes and dimensions of test pieces reference is made to EN 10002-1
- For inspection documents, reference is made to EN 10204
- Resistance to stress corrosion cracking – Electrical conductivity is added
This document does not apply to:
- Forging stock
- Extruded precision profiles in alloys
- Products delivered in coils
- Coiled tubes cut to length.
BS EN 755-1:2008 supersedes BS EN 755-1:1997, which has been withdrawn.
