What is BS EN 3388 - Externally threaded fasteners about?

BS EN 3388 is a European standard in the aerospace series which covers fasteners, externally threaded, in heat resisting nickel base alloy NI-PH2601.

It specifies the technical and quality assurance requirements for externally threaded fasteners in material NI-PH2601 (Inconel 718) of tensile strength class 1 275 MPa at room temperature, maximum test temperature of material 650 °C.

The externally threaded fasteners specified herein may be manufactured by machining from bar or by forging at the manufacturer's option, if forged there is no requirement for control of grainflow.

Primarily for aerospace applications, BS EN 3388 is applicable to externally threaded fasteners when referenced on the product standard or drawing.

Who is BS EN 3388 - Externally threaded fasteners for?

BS EN 3388 on externally threaded fasteners is useful for:

  • Manufacturers of aerospace equipment and components
  • Externally threaded fastener manufacturers

Why should you use BS EN 3388 - Externally threaded fasteners

When it comes to the manufacturing and use of aerospace components, reliability and consistent performance are crucial. Hence BS EN 3388 walks you through the characteristics of externally threaded fasteners.

This ensures safety and reliability in your organization and in turn increases the efficiency of work.
