What is BS EN 4532- Crush-resistant cables of the aerospace equipment about?

BS EN 4532 is a series on Aerospace series. BS EN 4532 has been prepared by the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe - Standardization (ASD-STAN). It talks about cables, optical single core fibre with an outer jacket for aerospace equipment. BS EN 4532 covers two cable types, Type A and Type B. Type A, jacketed fibre, is intended for printed circuit board inter-connection applications inside the equipment. Type B, single-core, is intended for general airframe and equipment inter-connection cable suitable for installation in all aircraft locations, with exception of power plant compartments. These cables are particularly suitable for use in military aircraft as well as for general civil aircraft applications.

Who is BS EN 4532- Crush-resistant cables of the aerospace equipment for?

BS EN 4532:2009 on Single optical core fibre cable with an outer jacket is useful for:

  •  Aerospace and aeronautical industry
  • Manufacturers and dealers of wires
  • Manufacturers of military and aerospace equipment
  • Cable installers
  • Aerospace and aeronautical engineers

Why should you use BS EN 4532- Crush-resistant cables of the aerospace equipment for?

Aerospace is a term used to collectively refer to the atmosphere and outer space. Aerospace activity is very diverse, with a multitude of commercial, industrial, and military applications. Military and general civil aircraft go under a lot of air pressure in higher altitudes. To ensure the accurate working of the aircraft it is important to implement the BS EN 4532 standard.

BS EN 4532 covers two types of cables Type A & B. BS EN 4532 are robust and highly flexible cables. It ensures high bandwidth data and video transmission with low optical loss.  BS EN 4532 standards assure impact and crush-resistant cables of the aerospace equipment which further ensures the safety of the passengers' travelling. Using BS EN 4532 you can specify two cable types, Type A and Type B. Type A, is jacketed fibre.
