What is BS EN 61800-7-304 – Electrical power drive systems about ?

BS EN 61800-7-304 is a part of the BS EN 61800 series of international standards that discusses the interface and use of profiles for power drive systems. A Power Drive Unit is used to convert electrical or hydraulic power into mechanical motion (often rotary) and drive a mechanical actuation system. 

BS EN 61800-7-304 specifies the mapping of the profile type 4 (SERCOS) specified in IEC 61800-7-204 onto different network technologies.

BS EN 61800-7-304 provides a mapping that defines others the mapping to CP16/1 (SERCOS I), which is been previously specified in IEC 61491:2002 and it is incorporated in BS EN 61800-7-304 communication standard families while specifying the mapping of the SERCOS drive profile to the communication profiles CP16/2 (SERCOS II), CP16/3(SERCOS III) and CP12 (EtherCAT).
